Painter and Printmaker

Fatima Garzan was born in Tehran, Iran and immigrated to Canada in 1992. Fatima has a B.A. in Economics and she studied Fine arts at the University of Waterloo where she received her honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a Studio Specialization in painting and printmaking.

She currently paints from her studio in the Globe Studios in Kitchener, Ontario, and uses the facilities of the Open Studio in Toronto, and Print Studio in Hamilton, Ontario for her prints.

Exposure to more than one culture and working with two media, have formative influences on her work, and gives her freedom to move randomly through them in order to find her voice.

Her work is in the Canada Council Art Bank and private collections.
