Sheila Trinkaus

My interest in the arts started early, with pencil drawings, watercolours and quickly progressed to oil and acrylics. Throughout my life as an artist, I have had the opportunity to be educated, work and experiment in a wide variety of artistic areas such as silversmithing, pottery, stained glass, silk screening, silk painting and print making but the draw back to painting has always been strong and consistent. I enjoy working in a variety of mediums but acrylic seems to be my preferred. I am inspired by the inner feelings and emotions of the human animal and the intriguing world of reptiles and insects. Natures creativity amazes me.

I work in a variety of styles, from an art-deco flavour to a more dramatic theatrical style with an oriental edge. Working in different styles provides fuel for my soul and allows for the flow of internal images to come to life on my canvas. I have participated in many group juried and solo shows. My work hangs across Canada, the U.S.A. and Germany.
